Grand openings are a big and exciting day for everyone involved. It is the beginning of something new and promising and your business’ first introduction to the outside world in Central Florida. Here are some grand opening ideas to help this major day go smoothly and attract lots of attention, whether you are in Tallahassee, Orlando, Miami, Ocala, or any other part of Florida.

— Come up with a budget and do you best to stick to it. Don’t be afraid to spend some money on your Grand Opening Party, you want the day to be fun, attractive, and pleasant for all who stop by so they will come back.

— Select a date for your grand opening that gives you plenty of time to prepare. Be sure to take into consideration your local holidays, sports games, public school schedules, etc.

— Decide whether the best investment for your business would be to rent an inflatable balloon, or have a custom inflatable ad made. Renting a grand opening balloon is obviously cheaper than a custom-made one. However, inflatable rental balloons will limit your choices. A custom-designed advertising inflatable will enable you to have a very large branded advertisement, permanently.

— Have a detailed, professional-looking map of your store drawn up with areas labeled for new customers to easily find their way around, both at the grand opening party and later, when they visit again. Consider including some frequently asked questions about whatever product or service you will be providing as well as a short history on how your business was born. Essentially, you will be able to hand every person a flyer for your new business, so be sure to also include contact information (phone numbers, websites, managers’/owners’ names, etc) and your new regular business hours.

— Make sure that your new staff and any volunteers that you have helping you (most likely friends and family) know that at the grand opening all hands on deck are needed. All staff members should know as soon as you schedule the date that their presence is mandatory.

— Make sure all those employees and volunteers are well taken care of during the day. It is going to be a long day for everyone, so make sure everyone gets a few breaks throughout the day and have an area reserved for your army (not available to the public) that is stocked up with good food (both good for you and good tasting), plenty of liquids, and a place to sit and rest for a moment. If you’re catering for your new customers at your grand opening party, you might want to consider having the same company cater for your workers as well.

— Be prepared to sell. Whether your new business will be providing services or goods to the surrounding community in Tallahassee, Orlando, Miami, Ocala, or any other part of Florida, make sure you and your staff are prepared to sell your product or service, whether that is groceries, setting appointments for home visits, or introducing people to potential case managers. This is a grand opening party, but it is the grand opening of a business and your new business should be prepared to hit the ground running from the very first day.
